Witney Talking News

Witney Talking News provides a weekly tape of local news and events for the visually impaired in our area. The main stories are taken from the Witney Gazette, but we also feature items from the Faringdon Folly and use items from the Oxford Times . In addition to the news items we have a feature on the beginning of Side Two of the tape which can be poetry, interviews, birdsong, etc. WTN holds an annual Social to which we invite our listeners. This is usually held at Wood Green School in Witney.

There are approx. 70 volunteers in our organisation including Readers, Sound Recordists, Editors, Presenters and Helpers, who deal with the weekly production of a master tape and copying of tapes sent to our Listeners.

WTN welcomes enquiries from anyone interested in any of the above. Our Chairman is Peter Bee and Listeners' Administrator is Doreen Turner. Contact details can be obtained by contacting Martyn Miles
