Whats On

The Witney Scottish Country Dancers are affiliated to the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society and meet informally at the Madley Park School on a Monday evening during term time from 7.45 to 9.45pm with a break for half term. Beginners and experienced dancers welcome - bring soft shoes

There are approximately 30 members, with between 16 and 20 attending for each session. Two of the members lead the group each week where about 10 dances are covered, some old, some new, but all fun! There is no formal teaching (this is done at the RSCDS Branch in Oxford), but two of our experienced dancers will take beginners through the basic steps.

Our annual ball is held in April and the dance nights leading up to this are mainly devoted to the 20 dances on the ball programme. At the Spring and Christmas ‘end of term’ a social evening is held with wine and food. Members donate raffle prizes and the proceeds from those raffles and our Annual Ball Raffle are donated to a charity.
