Whats On
Neville and Olaug Usher-Wilson welcome you to our web site and, possibly, to our home, "The Tallat", which is a Cotswold word for a barn or shed, used originally for 'garaging' carts and a threshing machine, with a loft for hay and straw. It was part of 'Freelands farm' in Westwell but converted in 1976 with additions and further alterations in 1994. Neville and Olaug have lived in the house since 1996 and have, for some years been welcoming foreign students, to who Neville teaches English as a foreign language, many of whom have become friends and come back as visitors. Before that they lived abroad for some time in Uganda, Kenya and Norway (Olaug is Norwegian) and have travelled widely elsewhere.
The Tallat has 5 bedrooms, but we would normally only take two or four guests at a time in a large double room upstairs, furnished with bed(s), chairs, desk, dressing table etc. Other bedrooms are smaller but easily accommodate two beds. there is a bathroom with basin and toilet and a shower room also with basin and toilet. All rooms have facilities for brewing coffee or tea and the main bedroom has TV (We have Sky TV) Breakfast and dinner, if specially requested beforehand, is served in the dining room downstairs and guests may use the sitting room also and the garden.Cars can be parked across the drive in front of the house.
