Despite the showers a record number of people attended the Swerford Nostalgia Day, and enjoyed the excellent refreshments as well as the display in the village hall.

....and the plumbing worked. This model was just for show.

Some were enthralled . .

by the DVD of the Flower Shows and played 'spot the participants' in the sack races. .

Others identified the subjects of photographs.

There was a fascinating collection of photographs of former Swerford inhabitants and a series of 'then and now' pictures of residents taken outside their houses.

The sun shone for the barbecue

Emergency supplies of rolls and burgers had to be rushed in to meet the demand.

And the rain rained for the strawberries!

But there was no tennis!

There was great interest in the display boards

Many of the old photographs were of excellent quality and reproduced remarkably well.

Meanwhile....

Ketchup the spaniel waited patiently whilst his owners viewed the exhibits.

There were delicious cakes. . .

There was a selection of the renowned Swerford home bakes to enjoy with tea or coffee in the afternoon and packed cakes to take home to extend the enjoyment of the day.

An excellent day was had

Either reminiscing or learning something new, or just enjoying drinks on the lawn.

At the end of the day

whether it be a cake, a plant, a booklet about Swerford and its history, or just shared memories everyone took something home.
