Jane Abbott of Grange farm

The lights were still burning at 2am in Grange Farm on the morning of the 2008 International Sugarcraft and Cake Decorating Show at the NEC Birmingham.

It was the beginning of November 2008 and Jane Abbott had entered some cakes in the Cake Decorating Competition. A crisis had arisen!

Egyptian themed cake

There were only hours to go before Jane's entries had to be presented at the show and the leaves on one of the palm trees on her Egyptian themed cake had broken. It had to be replaced. The frantic activity paid off because the cake was awarded bronze certificate in its class.

Birthday Bathtime

Even more successful was the children's bath- time themed cake. This received a silver award in its class.
