Whats On

An Energy Efficiency Project was started in North Leigh in 2005 in collaboration with the Thames Valley Energy Centre. It attracted the attention of Southern Electric which later became part of the Scottish and Southern Energy Group (SSE) and three quarters of the way through the original project North Leigh was adopted as one of three SSE projects. The others are in Scotland and Wales.

The project is called Challenge North Leigh. The strategic aim is to identify "What works" in motivating people to save energy and the test of success will be a reducing electricity use by 10% for at least three months of 2009 compared with 2008. If that target is achieved, SSE will award North Leigh 20,000 for energy related improvements to the North Leigh Memorial Hall.
