Our village Neighbourhood Watch liaison officer : Deirdre Fallows has kindly volunteered to act in this capacity. Her offer has been gratefully accepted.

Thames Valley Police Neighbourhood Watch liaison will be managed by Sergeant Mark Smith (based at Witney, with responsibility for Chipping Norton) and Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) Chris Jones (based at Chipping Norton) who covers Little Tew. Both officers attended the AGM on 19 May 2009. A new 0845 telephone facility has been introduced for the area including Little Tew. It provides a rapid response time for incoming calls, and the advice in regard to what constitutes an appropriate call is "Report anything and everything" - BUT for a crime in progress call 999. The 0845 number is: 0845 8 505 505.

The role of a liaison officer, as described in the Neighbourhood Watch (NW Info) fact sheet, reads as follows:

" As a contact person, it is your role to act as a "hub" between members, yourself and the Police; also you are expected to pass on any messages you receive via the Police on crime incidents as soon as possible after receiving them to your members to alert them to be vigilant."

Residents of Little Tew and members of the Little Tew Parish Meeting are "members", as mentioned above.
