WOODLAND WORKPARTIES - We meet on the 2nd Sunday of every month, weather permitting, from 11am - 1pm. Spring and summer workparties revarnished the notice board, planted hawthorn trees, sowed wild flowers and raked mown grass from the glade and rides. Recent workparties have concentrated on coppicing hazel for stakes, binders and beanpoles. On December 11th, we prepared sharpened stakes for a Forest School playground seating area.
NEWS: 34 adults and children saw 3 pipistrelles and, using a bat detector, heard their modified cries at our Bat Night on 14th September 2011. 24 adults and children enjoyed our Bug Hunt on 18th June 2011, capturing some of the wide range of mini-beasts that inhabit our community woodland.
