Neighbourhood Policing

Neighbourhood policing is about making sure that the police, working together with other people, provide the service that everybody wants, by tackling the issues that are important to them.
Each neighbourhood, or group of neighbourhoods, will have its own dedicated policing team made up of uniformed police officers, special constables and Police Community Support Officers.

These teams will work closely with representatives of other agencies to tackle issues of concern that residents have identified following consultation.

Community Support Officers

Police Community Support Officers are uniformed members of police staff who will spend most of their time carrying out high visibility patrols within their designated community,

As well as providing a reassuring presence, PCSOs also work hard to tackle lower level crime and anti- social behaviour issues to help improve the quality of life for residents.
They play a key role in neighbourhood policing teams.
