Chairman's column.

The 2008 season sees captaincy changes for both teams. Rob Lovick has been elected as 1st XI Captain, and Dave Burgess has been elected as 2nd XI Captain - best wishes to you both.

The Club has taken the unprecedented step of signing an overseas player for the 2008 season. It is hoped that this will enable us to improve the general standard of our play, and help with player coaching and development.
I would also like to thank Ken Field and the HPFA for given us permission to erect an outdoor net at the ground. Finally a big thank you to all our sponsers and supporters, and here's to an enjoyable season.

Matthew Busby, Club Chairman.

President's Column.

Cricket Seasons seem to come and go and a rate of knots, it must be a sign of getting old.
Last season, along with the awful weather, was a bit of a struggle. However we managed to stay up and everyone worked hard and seemed to enjoy their cricket none-the- less. Let's hope that things improve for the 2008 season - and not least the boolming weather !

The 2nd XI had another successful season and were unlucky not to gain promotion. I hope the youngsters keep improving, I am sure they will be pushing for 1st XI places soon!

Best of luck to both Team Captains. Here's to a successful season for everyone at the Club.

Harry Foot, Club President.

1st XI Season Preview

Well, it's the cricket season again, and I'm back as 1st XI Captain. I'm really looking forward to the season ahead - hopefully we can be a bit more competitive this time around.

Last year was a bit disappointing and we under-achieved considering our talent, but with new signings and promising younger players, I think we can make a good promotion push.We will obviously miss Harry as our umpire, but with the good work Michael, Dick and Jim do behind the scenes, the season ahead looks very promising and perhaps we can send the fans home a bit happier on a Saturday.

I hope everyone has an enjoyable season.

Dave Burgess
2nd XI Season Preview

Hello everyone and welcome to another Cricket Season. The 2nd XI will play in Division 8 after narrowly missing promotion last year, primarily due to the terrible weather we endured.

We are fortunate to have a rich vein of young talent at the Club and it's my main objective as Captain to develop these players within the structure of a competitive league environment.

I am very keen for the 2nd XI to gain promotion this season so we can reduce the gap in standard between the 1st and 2nd XI.

I am looking forward to the challenge of the Captain's role and I wish everyone good luck.
