Hanborough Garden Club and Open Gardens

We are a newly formed garden club which meets every other month for talks about gardens, gardening, our local environment and the history of gardens. We may also sometimes have meetings covering more practical subjects such as flower arranging. We organise trips to visit gardens and we are RHS affiliated. Everyone is welcome to the talks and we charge a nominal amount which includes refreshment. We meet at the Recreation Hall, Long Hanborough at 7.30. The next talk is Companion Gardening by Andrew Sankey on 27 June 2013. The cost for a ticket including refreshment is 5. On 26 September 2013 Paul Moir will be talking about the History and Restoration of the Rococo Garden at Painswick. This is also 5 for a ticket including refreshment.

This year the committee are organising Hanborough Open Gardens which will be on 25th and 26th May between 2.00 pm and 6.00 pm. We have a varied, interesting and beautiful selection of gardens open. Programmes and teas are available at the Methodist Hall, Riely Close, Long Hanborough where there will also be a plant stall. Some gardens will also be serving teas and one garden will be serving light lunches and teas (7 Millwood End). We are raising money for Bridewell Organic Gardens and Maggie's Cancer Care. Programmes are 3 per adult and children are free.
