« See also Annual Parish Meeting; Flooding - David Cameron speaks out; Parish Plan; latest.
The responsible authority for local planning is the District Council: Local Development Framework here.

Planning applications affecting Eynsham and Barnard Gate are considered by the Parish Council Planning Committee.
Click here for details of the next meeting and decisions taken in the last 6 months. Contact the clerk for earlier ones.

You can now track current/recent applications via the District Council Planning Explorer: select Eynsham from the Parish list.
The reports are saved in Adobe .pdf format and you will need the Adobe .pdf reader to open them.

The Parish Council is also involved in LARGER-SCALE proposals that may affect the village as a whole, such as Back Lane toilets (Lloyds chemist), Chilbridge Road, Eynsham East (Bitterell) and gravel extraction. Details follow - click on any link.

PLANNING FOR THE FUTURE: issues and options to 2026. 12 sites have been suggested for development in the Eynsham area. These are for discussion purposes only, NOT Council proposals; read the background here. Deadline for comments at this first stage was 12 May.

BACK LANE TOILETS: plans for demolition and erection of retail unit with 2 flats above were considered at the full Council meeting on 05 February. The application was withdrawn; WODC proposed to survey spaces etc in the car park then submit revised plans. UPDATE 15 MAY: a revised application was considered at the Planning Committee meeting on 12 May – Council response here.

EYNSHAM NURSERY & PLANT CENTRE (certificate of lawfulness): this was considered with other applications in full Council on 4 December.

AFFORDABLE HOUSING (Chilbridge Road): background and summary in the Housing section of the Eynsham Parish Plan. Cottsway is exploring scope for access to the site via Merton Close with the District and County Councils - more here. UPDATE: exhibition in the Village Hall 23 April here.

EYNSHAM EAST (Bitterell): Bryant Homes development proposals were on view on Tuesday 11 March, following Taylor Wimpey public consultation on planning & development on 18 December. Comment and discussion in full Council on 01 April here, response to the developers here. Any plan submitted to the District Council will be subject to a period of public consultation.

GRAVEL EXTRACTION (Hansons): the Parish Council received details of a revised application on 10 October 2007. Contents Page, Main Changes, Fact Sheet, Public Consultation, Restoration and aftercare here. The full documentation (468 pages) is available in the Library during normal opening hours. Deadline for public comments was 9 November. Discussion in Council on 4 December here; letter from David Cameron MP here.
