Eynsham Online is the Parish Council's latest contribution to open government in Eynsham and Barnard Gate. If you live or work in the area, it also offers a guide to business, shops and services; updates on local issues and interests; and a diary reflecting the activities of 90 clubs, societies and support groups. If you're moving in, there's a comprehensive 'welcome pack'. If you're looking around, there are historical items, images, reflections and tours for every taste; and pointers to other significant sources on the links page.

Eynsham is the 4th largest settlement in West Oxfordshire, at an important crossing of the river Thames, midway between Oxford and Witney and within a stone's throw of the A40; click here for maps. Its recorded history goes back to Saxon times; Eynsham Abbey (sadly no more) was founded in 1005; and 92 listed buildings survive around the centre. Today the village caters for body, mind and spirit with 30 food & drink outlets (including 10 pubs); 7 education facilities; 3 churches and a range of alternative health practices.

We hope you enjoy the site. Images, comments and suggestions are always welcome.
