The Club shall be known
as Chipping Norton Badminton Club.

Aims and
Objectives
The aims and objectives of the Club
are to:
i) play and promote badminton in
the local community
ii) offer badminton coaching and
competition to all members

Club Officers
The following officers will be elected
at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) to
form the Club Committee:
Chairman
Secretary
Treasurer
Match Secretary

Membership
Club membership subscription rates will
be set and approved at the AGM.
The following memberships will be
available
Adult membership
Junior membership
Family membership (2 adults and up to
3 children from the same family)
Joint Adult membership (2 adults from
the same family)
Subscriptions are due on the members
first playing night of the season and
can be paid to any committee member.
Junior membership is available to those
under 18 years old on the first Club
night of the season.

Visitors
Visitors may attend Club nights
on as many occasions as they wish
during the season at the usual visitor
fee.
Vistor fees will be set and approved at
the AGM.
In order to encourage prospective
new members, visitors new to the Club
will be offered the first evening at no
cost.

Club Nights
Playing hours will normally be
7.00-9.30pm on Wednesday evenings.
Players must provide their own
racquets.
All players must wear shoes that do not
mark the sports hall floor.
The Club will provide
shuttles.
Players will add their name to
the bottom of the board when they
arrive. The player at the top of the
board may choose players for the next
game. It is recommended that games are
selected by adult members.

Teams
Team Captains will be appointed at the
AGM.
All members of the Club will be
eligible to play in a team. Players
will be chosen on merit.
The Team Captains will:
Select team members
Ensure there is a full team for
matches
Collect match fees for both home
and away matches and pass on to the
Treasurer
Fill in match record card and
send to Banbury Town League
Match fees will be set and approved at
the AGM.

Finance and
Accounts
All Club monies will be banked in
accounts held in the name of the Club.
The accounts will be maintained by the
Treasurer. Any cheques drawn against
Club funds will be signed by the
Treasurer.
Should the Club no longer be viable, or
is dissolved by members, and the
accounts need to be wound up, then
any residual funds, after all creditors
have been satisfied, shall be donated
to a club or organisation with similar
aims and objectives.

AGM, Quorum and
Voting Rights
The Club AGM will normally be held at
the end of the badminton season.
All paid up members of the Club
(adult or junior) are entitled to a
vote when decisions about the Club are
being made.
A quorum for such meetings will be:
i) at least 2 committee members and
20% of the members, or
ii) at least 50% of the members.

Roles and
Responsibilities of Club Officers
Chairman
Chairing the Club AGM.
Looking at the overall direction
of the Club.
Dealing with miscellaneous issues.
Attending, delegating a
representative or sending apologies for
the following AGMs
- Banbury Town League
- Oxfordshire Badminton Association
(failure to do so may result in a fine)
Secretary
Maintaining records of members,
including addresses, emails and phone
numbers.
Sending out letters to Club
members twice a year, i.e. AGM & start
of new season.
Registering all Club members with
Badminton Association of England and
Oxford Badminton Association for
insurance purposes.
Taking minutes at the AGM.
Treasurer
Collecting membership subscriptions,
match fees & visitor fees.
Banking money and maintaining bank
accounts.
Paying court fees for the sports
hall.
Producing a balance sheet at the
end of the season.
Reporting financial status at the
AGM.
Match Secretary
Attending match fixture meeting
(usually in August) to arrange matches
with other clubs in the Banbury Town
League.
Registering Club teams with
Banbury Town League at start of
season.
Dealing with any necessary
rearrangement of matches due to adverse
weather conditions, etc.
