Cassington Womens Institute

We meet in Cassington Village Hall at 7.45pm on the 3rd Thursday of every month except August, when we have our Annual Outing, usually to a National Trust property or other place of interest.

During the course of the year we hold three ‘Open’ meetings to which non-members (including gentlemen) are welcome for a charge of £3 which includes light refreshments.

By becoming a member of the WI you will have one night per month when you can meet and make new friends and hear interesting Speakers on a wide range of topics.

You will also have the opportunity of learning new skills. The WI has its own college, Denman College, Marcham where regular courses are taught such as quilting, art, silvercraft, cookery etc.

The Oxfordshire Federation of WIs also arranges some great and interesting days out, eg ‘Blue Badge’ tours to various parts of London, Exhibitions, Science Lectures and For the more energetic there are rambles twice a year in various parts of Oxfordshire or perhaps you would like to learn to play croquet, short mat bowls or, as many of the Cassington ladies have done, learn to play golf.

So, what are you waiting for? Why not come along and give us a try? We are a friendly crowd and would love to have YOU join us, no matter how young or old you are.

Our programme for 2017/18 is:

November 16th Open Meeting - Talk on Energy Saving tips

November 18th - Jumble sale in the village hall
