A new, well-equipped Community Centre with a large hall seating up to 200 and a smaller hall, a number of meeting rooms and a community café is being built on Trefoil Way (OX18 1AX) in Carterton and will be opening in late 2008. It is expected to have cost in the region of £1.4m, with the main contributions coming from the developers of the NE Development and Carterton Town Council. Additional funding has also been provided by the Oxfordshire Market Towns Fund and WREN, a landfill trust.
This is an exciting project, which has been developed in close consultation with the local community from the start, and will provide Carterton with a much needed high quality facility for a range of events and uses. We are currently recruiting for staff to run the centre - a MANAGER who is enthusiastic, good with people and able to work flexible hours. Salary in the region of £11,000 for a 20 hour week. Also a CARETAKER - Salary in the region of £6,000 for a 15 hour week flexible hours. Closing date is 22 August 2008.
