REGIONAL PLANNING FRAMEWORK

It's an exciting time in the planning world for the district, county and region.

First, the Draft South East Plan proposes a strategic regional planning framework for the period 2006 to 2026 which details how the region should be managed over the next 2 decades. It is a large document but of interest to all who have a vested interest in the region - take a look

at www.southeast- ra.pov.uk/southeastplan.

Secondly, the Oxfordshire Structure Plan looks out to 2016 and provides a policy framework for the development and use of land in the county - Witney and Carterton are singled out as areas for development. This document can be found at

w ww.oxfordshires.gov.uk  (type `structure plan' into their search window to find the appropriate pages).

Finally, for those interested in local planning and design, the West Oxfordshire Design Guide is available at

www.westoxon.gov.uk/planning/DesignGuid e.cfm

this is perhaps of more direct interest to parish residents and there is some interesting detail on Alvescot and surrounding countryside/villages
