FLICX CRICKET PITCH
Last year after the ‘ASHES’ victory
there was an increased interest in the
playing of cricket with a hard cricket
ball in the playing field. This is
good and should be supported but there
were safety concerns with the ball
sometimes landing in surrounding
gardens where children play and also
in the children’s play area and MUGA.
The players also asked for a proper
cricket pitch.
After discussion the Parish Council
agreed that the best option bearing in
mind the limited size of the playing
field that a practise facility
suitably located was the answer.
Thanks to a £1679 grant from the
Lottery’s ‘AWARDS FOR ALL’ we have now
installed a ‘FLICX’ plastic cricket
pitch and net
